We have developed the Tung Sing Community Grants scheme!
Grants will be available for estate or communal property improvements, community initiatives and events, and to help residents’ groups operate effectively
They are available to individuals who have the support of other members of their community, or to residents’ groups. Below are the three main categories:
Community Initiatives
Community projects or facilities such as youth activities, equipment, events, or projects that may help to benefit communities where we own properties. For example, purchasing panic alarms, gazebos that can be used at community events, or funding a family fun day
Estate or Property Improvements
For example, security lighting and environmental projects; with an emphasis on projects that are new or additional
People
Training such as committee skills and minute taking to help ensure that meetings run more effectively.
For example fire marshall and first aid training, skilling up the community as well as helping people feel more safe
How to Apply
Applicants can be made by a single resident or a residents’ group on an official application form. All supporting information should accompany the application. If made by a single resident, there must be a minimum of 4 residents who support the application and who have all counter-signed it
All applications will be judged on their merit by committee members of Tung Sing City Wide Focus Group and Resident Engagement Team. The team may also help to gain funding for your idea from other sources
Funding is limited; therefore it is at Tung Sing’s discretion whether we approve an application. If we reject an application, we will always try to give a full explanation why
It may be necessary to consult with other residents about your idea. If this is required, Tung Sing staff members can support you on this.
In some it may be necessary to charge a small service charge to maintain the improvement once it is completed. Tung Sing staff members must consult with all residents about this before any work is carried out
We will fund a maximum of £ 500 per successful application and may only fund a maximum of three applications for each area annually
